Fabric projects are great fun! And the results can easily exceed what can be accomplished by spending lots of money and time shopping for off the shelf items. Custom projects, by amateurs or professionals, are simply the best way to decorate!
This site is devoted to the task of making such work more productive through the release of apps that include detailed instructions, scale renditions to guide cutting and fitting, ready access to materials and tools, and also wonderful videos illustrating techniques. These apps are very much a work in process. "Roman Shade Fabrication" is nearly done (as of February 19, 2015) but, to this point, "Box Cushion Fabrication" is all that is available in finished form and only on the Apple store.
The plan is to offer apps for many more projects that work on a variety of devices. In the meantime, check out what is available now and let us know what you think!
The first version of this work is the collection of fabric yardage calculators on the web developed as a marketing tool for Sailrite. There is a calculator for all of the shapes shown here.
